Database outage on October 4th

We just recovered from a nasty database outage. Recent changes in scheduling have changed performance bottlenecks. Although most of these where anticipated, the one where the database logs suddenly quintuple and fill up the disk was not.

Things are back to normal again, and log disk size has been increased. Sorry for the inconvenience!
